A Fierce Green Fire tells stories of environmental activism – people trying to save the planet, their homes, their lives, the future. It chronicles grassroots and global movements building over five decades; connects all the causes to create a big-picture synthesis; explores how we got here and where we’re going. Ours is the time when humanity ran up against nature -- the challenge before us is guiding spaceship earth, bringing our civilization into sustainable balance with the web of life that supports us.
A Fierce Green Fire is nearing completion. The film has been through two rounds of scripting and editing. Now we have a rough-cut of 110 minutes. A grant from the Sundance Documentary Fund will cover editing a fine-cut. We recently were accepted into the 2012 Sundance Film Fest, and hope to have our picture locked in January 2012.
A Fierce Green Fire should be seen in theaters, broadcast internationally, used by schools and activists, available on DVD and streaming to a multi-platform universe. The film is modular by design, composed of 20-25 minute acts that can be viewed separately or in combination. We want it to be used as a tool for educators and environmental groups and individuals – to give a broader understanding and explore deeper meanings, to inspire and rally adherents all over the world, to recruit new generations to the central cause of the coming century.
We're planning outreach and building a community of supporters. Please help. Let us know who you are and how you’d like to use the film. Spread the word, tell your friends and colleagues.
